Another step forward for Clinnova in Luxembourg

On behalf of the Clinnova consortium, the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) and the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL), are pleased to announce the recruitment of the first 2 Luxembourg patients under the cross-border digital health project Clinnova. In a noteworthy development, the Luxembourg arm of the Clinnova project successfully enrolled its inaugural 2 patients under the inflammatory bowel disease cohort, a promising stride forward for the initiative. Dr Jasmin Schulz, chief coordinator of Clinnova at the LIH, emphasised the importance of this achievement, stating: “The recruitment of our first patients here in Luxembourg is a significant milestone, which will pave the way for the successful inclusion of all future participants across our three disease areas”. The first Luxembourg patients were recruited through the CHL under the supervision of medical investigator Dr Spyridon Sofos. This achievement follows the recent recruitment of the first 30 patients under the inflammatory bowel disease use case in Mannheim and Freiburg, Germany.

Clinnova to Launch Precision Medicine Initiative Across Europe

Clinnova, an international project involving clinicians and researchers from Luxembourg, France, Germany and Switzerland, is being officially launched in Luxembourg on April 27th at a kick-off ceremony attended by the Ministers of Higher Education & Research and Health. The initiative aims to realize the benefits of precision medicine for treatment decisions through data federation, standardization, and interoperability. The project is supported jointly by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), the Grand Est Region, the Canton of Basel as well as the State of Baden-Württemberg and will establish a shared launchpad for medical AI algorithm development in the heart of Europe.
